Here is where you add any good healthy smoothie recipes you have. I love making smoothies and so do my kids. Within the past year we have really enjoyed adding things like spinach and kale to our smoothies to boost our dark green veggie intake. The kids LOVE them!
Berry Banana Smoothie
ReplyDelete1/2 frozen banana
1 c. frozen mixed berries
Handful of baby spinach
1-2 c. water depending on how thin you want it
6-8 ice cubes
1 scoop vanilla or strawberry protein powder (optional)
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Note: I add the protein powder because I have a child who needs to be on a high protein diet and seems to perform better in school when he has a breakfast high in protein. I also like it while I am training for races and working out.
RACHEL'S FAVORITE SMOOTHIE
ReplyDelete1 cup blueberries
1 small banana
1 cup frozen cherries
1 large handful of baby kale or baby spinach
2 Tbls Hemp Protein Powder
1 cup hemp milk
1 cup ice
Add all ingredients to a good blender (I use a Blendtec) and whirl away till smooth. If more liquid is needed to get things moving, add water till desired consistency is reached.
MOLLY PIÑA COLADA
ReplyDelete1 cup frozen mango
2 cup frozen pineapple
1 small banana
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1 TBLS organic virgin coconut oil
1 cup mango or pineapple juice
1 cup ice
Place all ingredients in a good blender and whirl to desired consistency. If pineapple is over ripe and flavor of it takes over, add more mango.
I tried this one today and it was SO good! Definitely a keeper in our house. It was a hit with all of the kids.
